08 Jun Anne Stewart
Anne’s love of audio-books was kick-started in the 1980s, by an obsession with a hot pink audio-cassette of Cinderella. She found it impossible to decide which was more pleasing – the colour of the cassette, or the words it contained.
She gave up trying to choose between them, resigning herself to a life of loving books, stories, listening, drawing (amongst other ways of making pictures) – and most especially the wonderful places where these things co-exist and intersect. She chose to study Illustration and Printmaking before completing a Masters Degree in Sequential Design, with a focus on narrative.
Anne now lives in Edinburgh with her husband, 3 children, dog, cat and multiple teetering stacks of books. She taught in Higher Education, then worked in a pottery for many years. In her spare time, she can often be found running very slowly round Arthur’s Seat, cursing weeds at her allotment or attempting to justify the size of her recipe book collection by cooking from it.
