Jamie Hanes
Growing up speaking two languages (Italian and English) trained Jamie’s ear, and his Harvard education gave him breadth of knowledge – he enjoys narrating books with complicated subject matter (really!) and the challenge of making it clear to the listener. Although Jamie has acted in over seventy plays and performed on guitar for over thirty years, his day job is all in front of the microphone: voiceovers, promos, animation, documentaries, reality TV narration—and of course, audiobooks (most recently: a kindly reviewed narration of “Trees in Trouble”). Jamie has soloed in a choir as he faced the Rose Window of Chartres Cathedral, directed a children’s play at the Kennedy Center, created the Los Angeles theater piece that first made the connection between O.J. and Othello, raised two beautiful daughters in partnership with his amazing wife – but “the true Harvest of my Life is intangible. A little stardust caught. A portion of the rainbow I have clutched.” (Thoreau.)
