C. James Moore

When he was four, Jim was temporarily blinded in both eyes by chemicals in a household accident. For almost a year, Jim’s family and friends read to him, either at his bedside, or by telephone. He listened to all the children’s classics, fairy tales, history, and adventures. That experience with the spoken word left Jim with a lifelong desire to share his love of literature read aloud. As a volunteer for two Washington, D.C. area spoken word services for the blind and visually impaired, Jim has been able to give back some of what he received gratefully as a boy. As the son of a U.S. Air Force officer, Jim traveled extensively across the United States, picking up accents as his family moved from region to region. Those regional recollections help Jim take on the challenges of voicing a wide variety of characters. Jim also enjoyed stage acting from high school, through college, and into community theater, and he loves to bring that same spotlight performance spirit to his narration. Retired now after 35 years of government service, Jim spends his recording hours in his home studio, the “Dungeon.” In 2015, Jim completed the BeeAudio Studio Certification Course (SCC), adding a valuable tool for his work as a BeeAudio narrator.
