Barbara Edelman

As an actress, playwright, trained improviser, director, memoir writing teacher, former librarian, independent bookstore customer and employee, Barbara has been lucky enough to have spent most of her adult life either reading aloud, reading to others (3 children and an entire elementary school full of students), or embodying different characters on-stage. She is also a trained cabaret singer, loving to sing songs by Gershwin, Cole Porter with the occasional tune by Abba tossed in just to keep the act interesting. (And the audience awake.) While her voice can sound very upper crust, her brain is relentlessly low-brow, and she has devolved into reading (until 2 A.M.) a steady diet of paranormal, urban fantasy, film-noir style mysteries, whose main character, (the hard-bitten detective with a heart of gold, is usually a werewolf/vampire/exorcist/shapeshifter wise guy. Otherwise she appears utterly normal.
